Rick Oleson - Product Development EngineerDescended from Nordic Vikings, Product Development Engineer Rick Oleson brings a unique combination of Scandinavian work ethic and bloodthirsty social values that make him a perfect fit here at Big Ass Fans. Rick-O has critical skills in caribou husbandry, longboat navigation, winter survival and arson. Not to mention he has developed products in use in both military and civilian applications around the world, including some of the same countries that he had raided in his earlier Viking period. His background a safety products design engineer gives him a strong sense of the importance of fault-free performance in critical products and a familiarity with performance standards and certification processes, all of which tends to make him surprisingly uninteresting at parties and in general casual conversation. He holds seven United States Patents and one Design patent, and has one Patent currently pending at Big Ass Fans, but no one knows for sure what any of them mean.
