Keypad Err
Does your Basic 6 or Powerfoil 8 fan keypad have a red LCD display that flashes “Err” when the Run button is pressed or when you try to adjust the speed? A parameter may have been accidentally mis-set. Try these troubleshooting suggestions.
- Press the Stop button first. Then locate and press the “M” button on the keypad to enter the parameter menu for the fan’s “brain,” called a variable frequency drive (VFD).
- For “Err” on Run, use the arrow buttons to navigate to P100 on the display, press M to view that parameter’s current setting, and change that setting back to “02” to activate the remote keypad’s Run button as the “Start Control Source.” Press M to save the change, and then try the Run button again.
- For “Err” when adjusting the speed, press the “M” button and use the arrow buttons to navigate to P101 on the display, press M to view its current setting, and change that setting back to “00” to activate the keypad’s up/down arrow buttons as the “Speed Control Source.” Press M to save the change, and then try starting the fan and adjusting its speed again.
- If other parameters in the menu were also mis-set, fan performance could be negatively impacted. Contact Customer Support if the above steps do not resolve the issue.
