Haiku Universal Mount Wobble
1. Make sure the sticker color on each airfoil matches the corresponding sticker color on the fan hub!
NOTE: If multiple fans were installed, make sure the Serial Number on the blade sticker matches the Serial Number of the large label on top of the motor. If blades were mixed when installing more than one unit, the fans will wobble.
2. Blades should be hand-tightened and fit evenly within the ridges on the motor housing. If a blade is loose or over-tightened, it will “pop” up slightly, and the blades will not present a uniform distribution between the blade separation ridges.
3. Lift the bell shaped Wiring Cover on top of the motor to expose the downrod/motor mounting. It is possible to over-tighten, leaving the motor slightly off level. The imbalance will cause the fan to spin in a figure 8 pattern when viewed from the ground and the fan will wobble. If this needs to be adjusted, loosen both bolts slightly to allow the motor to level and retighten.
4. Only a metal junction box marked “Approved for ceiling fans” and/or “Rated for 75 lbs” as required by The National Electric Code.
5. The junction box must be securely mounted to a ceiling joist, wood block, or adjustable brace.
6. The junction box must be flush with the ceiling surface.
7. The junction box should be clear of plaster and sheetrock tape to present a smooth and even mounting surface.
8. Verify the junction box is secure to the structure. Grasp the Mounting Bracket and try to move it around from different angles to ensure there is no movement in the junction box.
9. Both screws of the Mounting Bracket should be fully and tightly attached to the junction box.
10. Remove the fan from the cradle.
11. The wings of the metal wedge, which hold the downrod and mount, should be fully seated within the half-ball mount cutout.
12. Tighten the screw and wedge in the top of the ball.
13. When returning the half-ball mount to the wiring harness, make sure the cutout in the half-ball mount is hanging on the post at the rear of the wiring harness.
