Fan is tripping GFCI
Your fan is tripping your GFCI? Follow these troubleshooting steps.
- Confirm that the GFCI outlet or circuit is equipment rated. Standard GFCI outlets will trip at about 2mA of leaked current. Our ECM motors produce greater than 2mA of leakage at set speed. An equipment-rated GFCI with a trip limit of a minimum of 5mA will be needed.
- The maximum amp draw is approximately 8.5A. Make sure the circuit is rated for at least 15A.
- Confirm the wire run from the fan to the outlet or junction box does not exceed 100 feet.
