Fan is making a noise
Is your Bison or Mammoth making a noise? Follow these troubleshooting steps.
- Lower the wiring cover by depressing the safety catch at the top of the cover with a small allen wrench or similar object, and turn the cover to the left.
- Make sure the slack is removed from the safety cable and all electrical connections are tucked in so that they do not make contact with the wiring canopy.
- Verify that we are tight to the junction box at the ceiling. Both screws of the Mounting Bracket should be fully and tightly attached to the junction box.
- Another common cause of noise is the connection between the half-ball mount and the downrod at the ceiling. Remove the fan from the bracket. The wings of the metal wedge, which hold the downrod and mount, should be fully seated in the half-ball mount cutout. Tighten the screw and wedge in the top of the ball, then test to see if the squeaking has stopped.
