The Consumer Electronics Association® today announced Haiku® with SenseME™ Technology is a 2015 CES Innovation Awards Honoree in the Smart Home category, a prestigious distinction awarded to cutting-edge tech products and services for innovative design and engineering.
Haiku with SenseME is the world’s first smart ceiling fan and features an on-board computer and array of sensors to keep people comfortable automatically. Engineers at Big Ass Fans® designed Haiku with SenseME to monitor occupancy and environmental conditions and learn user preferences. Haiku with SenseME works with the Nest Learning Thermostat™ to save users up to 30 percent on air conditioning costs.
The Consumer Electronics Association sponsors the CES Innovation Awards. CEA produces the International CES and has been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.
This year’s awards honor consumer electronics products across 28 categories. A panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media evaluated entries based on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended function and user value, how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace, and uniqueness of the features.
