Haiku®, repeatedly recognized by ENERGY STAR® as the most energy-efficient ceiling fan, was recently named a BuildingGreen Top-10 Product for 2013. The 11th annual awards honored the most innovative green building developments at the U.S. Green Building Council’s 2012 Greenbuild Conference in San Francisco.
“In selecting this year’s products, we looked for companies addressing resilience, energy efficiency, thoughtful use of materials, cutting-edge system optimization and other needs,” said GreenSpec executive editor Alex Wilson.
Handcrafted from five layers of sustainable Moso bamboo, Haiku brings a breath of fresh air in both design and comfort while exceeding ENERGY STAR efficiency requirements by 450-750%. Though most residential ceiling fans require 90-100 watts of electrical power input, Haiku runs on just 2-30 watts for a total cost of around $5 a year.
